Progress Report 8

Dear Support Group
Monday was week 8 but 6th treatment due to last week’s very beneficial and vitamin D rich break. There are studies showing that many breast cancer patients are Vitamin D deficient and so I wonder if the health insurance will be open to pick up some of my expanses in particular the Golf fees. I get a lot of sun doing that.
I checked in with Randy and all looks great. My blood count shot up to normal levels so I should be good to go the next 4 rounds with the adjusted dosage. We headed to the suite and I think we must have arrived during the early bird special because the place was packed. The only corner available was the one we had the last time by the TV which despite all my efforts to remain calm, positive and happy really annoys me. But I know God loves me and didn’t want to sour my mood because just a little while later my preferred quiet section opened up and I was able to move to it. I noticed that the purple monkeys and hearts which where valentine’s day decoration were replaced by green St. Patty’s monkeys. (see pictures below). This is no coincidence that they are all monkeys. I am sure they are the ones I chased out of my mind trying to meditate, just hanging in letting me know they want to come back.
We had to wait a while because I asked for a special blood test that measures some other stuff (for homeopathic purposes) including the vitamin D levels and Randy was very nice about letting me do it even though it is not normal protocol in their clinic. That done all went pretty much on schedule. My pre-med dosage had been cut in half which works just as well. These are the drugs that are supposed to prevent side effects, but they have their own set of side effects. One (Zofran is anti-nausea) and tends to put me to sleep and the other (Decadron which is a steroid to help the Zofran) and which is responsible for tuning me into the energizer bunny by bedtime. I wised up and skipped the nap (but not the foot massage) and the Benadryl which I took instead at night and helped me sleep a lot better. So it looks like I finally figured out this routine. All in all, everything continues to go very well and I remain very appreciative of all the continued support and the wonderfully encouraging email and cards I get from you. Thanks again for the love. It is a beautiful thing to share.
Much love
nevine
